Studio (2010–2012)

photo series, dimensions variable

“If I was an artist and I was in the studio, then whatever I was doing in the studio must be art. At this point art became more of an activity and less of a product.”
Bruce Nauman

Studio is a series comprised of photoshoots that took place in the artist’s studio between 2010 and 2012. The project was initially intended to go on for much longer, but it was cut short by a building fire. The photos are a record of the artist’s meetings with people he more or less knew, as well as a game with pop-culture’s visual tropes. Being set somewhere in between fashion, erotic and artistic photography, the photos play with the tradition of atelier portraiture. Most of them resemble shots from film sets – of films that were never made.
